Ok Dewolfe writers....what is the secret to getting tracks published with them?
I definitely like the library. I've used it for years in addition to being a jingle writer.
I'm just now getting into the catalogue business and definitely want my music published with them. Who do I need to connect with?

She certainly is! I've done a few albums for them now and really like them. The best thing is they do not alter your work in any way whatsoever. Whatever you send in, is what usually goes out!

Think of doing business with dewolfe like dating your wife. You are building a long term relationship that will potentially last for a very long time. It's not a beer, a curry and a quick fumble in the dark and yes, she will possibly not be that interested in you at the start but don't give up cos she's worth it !!

It depends what you mean by selling well. When I said 'to make library pay' I was thinking in terms of earning 100k plus. If you're doing that with less than 100 tracks I can only applaud you.

If you haven't received any statement then I suggest you and your chum contact the accounts guy (Mohammed I think) and ask why you haven't received any. I would do that most forcefully. Failing that, I would suggest contacting BASCA (if you're based in the UK). They have been very helpful in addressing similar concerns of mine, though not related to De Wolfe.

A colleague who has several albums on Rouge also informed me he's had nothing. I, myself have somewhat less than a hundred tracks with library companies but they are all selling well so I'm afraid that I have to disagree with your comment that you need hundreds of tracks to make library pay. It comes down to two things: quality of material and distribution capabilities of the library. My disappointment with Rouge is not so much the fact that my track has not, apparently, been used but that they have so far failed to account to me for some five years.

Let'sget this right, you've had one track on Rouge? If that is the case I think you're being a bit silly judging a library on the fact your one track didn't get used. OK, if you had 6 albums with them and you got nothing then yeah, you might have an issue. But one track?

You need hundreds out there to make library pay.

I've had a track on Rouge Music, one of deWolfe's "specialist" libraries for the past 5 years. Despite several requests I've had no royalty statements and, after an initial small payment, no royalties. My material sells well on other libraries so no placements from this lot for five years is pretty surprising. Somehow I don't believe I'll be submitting anything to deWolfe anytime soon.

Noooo! They're not interested in your artwork but submit something that looks business-like and professional. Well worded cover letter, nicely headed paper, link to website, credits (but not ****** credits) is recommended. 'My music has been used in....' if applicable, demonstrates that you have a track record of earning money for libraries. That's the name of the game.
